A great start to the October School Holiday Coding Club

Today was the first day of New Plymouth’s School Holiday Coding Club.

11 awesome coders ranging from age 6 to 10 got together to work through Level One of our coding challenge. Some even made it to Level Two!

We discussed algorithms and programs, the importance of specific instructions, and how to make your teacher walk straight into the wall…

Next we did paper programming, debugging our code and coding with angry birds.

Hour of Code activities from Minecraft and Star Wars were a big hit – our coders got to tackle some challenging problems and they helped each other out along the way.

Well done everyone!  Looking forward to seeing some of you back for more sessions this week.
